Extreme Makeover: Home Edition Visits the Outer Banks (Ty Pennington Hang Glides from Jockey’s Ridge)

Nags Head, NC (December 13, 2006) - Ty Pennington of the hit reality television show Extreme Makeover: Home Edition and the rest of the crew made its first visit to North Carolina and The Outer Banks.  After they greeted the Riggins family of Raleigh with the shout of "Good Morning, Riggins Family!" and sent them off on a 7-day vacation, TY and the crew took off to go Hang Gliding with Kitty Hawk Kites on December 3, 2006.  While shooting Ty hang gliding over the coast and on the dunes of Jockey’s Ridge State Park, the camera man also took an air tour to get some incredible coastline footage. 
 
While the house remodeled was in Raleigh, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition wanted to capture the full “North Carolina Experience” including  the beautiful coastline of the Outer Banks and largest sand dune on the East Coast. Ty and the crew also took the infamous bus to the Wright Brother’s National Memorial, embracing the history of where the first flight took place.
 
Cori Davies, events coordinator for Kitty Hawk Kites worked closely with the crew to ensure they had the ultimate Outer Banks experience.  “It was a pleasure and honor to be able to meet and work with Ty and the staff of EMHE, they were a great group and very excited that they had the opportunity to visit our area and go hang gliding.  We hope to see them again!” said Davies.
