The season has been better than ever here on the Outer Banks and at Kitty Hawk Kites. Our events for the whole family are fun and FREE. Here are our events for November. Here is a schedule of all our events.
November 24 – 25. Kitty Hawk Kites Hangin’ with Santa. Kitty Hawk Kites (mp 12.5), Nags Head. Children can have their free photo taken with Santa in a demonstration Hang Glider, set up at Kitty Hawk Kites in Nags Head. November 25. Kitty Hawk Kites with Lights. Jockey’s Ridge State Park (mp 12.5), Nags Head. Watch the night sky magically transform as skilled flyers maneuver their lit stunt kites to the sounds of your favorite holiday songs.  120 teams of hard-core anglers head to Outer Banks
BUXTON — The sun had popped up over a smooth gray sea and shed its brilliance when fishing lines hit the water.
Normally, Jean Flanigan and Audrey Whitlock wouldn’t wait. They had cast many times when the sky was dark , relying only on the promising jerk of the rod.
But this Thursday morning, the pair were fishing in the two-day Cape Hatteras Anglers Club Invitational Surf Fishing Tournament. They are members of the Outcasts, one of 120 six-member teams competing. And the Outcasts are one of less than 20 women-only teams.
Whitlock has been reeling in fish since she was 6 and her dad took her pier fishing in Virginia Beach. Her first vehicle was a Jeep, which she bought so she could drive out on the beach and fish.
