KITTY HAWK KITES GIVES DONATION TO WRIGHT FLIGHT

Nags Head, NC (October 2008) - Kitty Hawk Kites met with Wright Flight of North Carolina Inc. on Friday, October 17, 2008, to present a check containing the profits of the 2008 Life is good Watermelon Festival held this past August.

On August 14, 2008, Kitty Hawk Kites teamed up with Life is good to host the 2nd annual Life is good Watermelon Festival. The event was held at the Kitty Hawk Kites store in Nags Head on a Thursday afternoon. Locals and visitors joined in the fun by eating watermelon, hopping in three leg races, dying t-shirts and even dunking the owner of Kitty Hawk Kites, John Harris. 

The proceeds from the event totaled almost $5,000 and were divided equally between two charities: Project Joy and Wright Flight. Project Joy is a national, Boston-based, non-profit children’s charity which brings powerful healing play to at-risk children. Wright Flight is an Outer Banks charity which helps local 5th graders master goal-setting skills, and excel academically with the reward of Flight.

The check presented to Wright Flight of North Carolina Inc. totaled $2,362.50 and will be used for the continual growth of a great program dedicated to fifth graders.
