Great Sounds on the Sound: Hatteras Island Surf Film Festival

Looking for a great family event on the Outer Banks this weekend? Well, look no further. The Hatteras Island Surf Film Festival kicks off this Saturday, August 20th 2011, at 4:00 at Waves Village Resort in Rodanthe (milepost 40). We’ve got great sounds ON THE sound, including: The Jesse Hines Band, The Delimiters, and The Rubber Pants Band.

At 8:30, there’ll be special screenings of some great surf films shown on the giant Kitty Hawk Kites inflatable big screen. As an added bonus, there’ll also be a special slideshow by photographer Mickey McCarthy.

Best of all, IT’S COMPLETELY FREE and FAMILY-FRIENDLY. Make plans to enjoy a pre- or post-show dinner at Good Winds Seafood and Wine Bar.
