John Harris Recognized with 2014 NC Tourism Excellence Award

Kitty Hawk Kites Founder and President, John Harris, was recognized on October 9 with the 2014 North Carolina Tourism Excellence Award by the North Carolina Travel Industry Association and the Destination Marketing Association of North Carolina at the 2014 Tourism Leadership Conference in Winston-Salem.

Harris, who founded Kitty Hawk Kites in 1974, was recognized for his outstanding contributions to the development of the travel industry in North Carolina. A committed and dedicated promoter of North Carolina and Outer Banks tourism through recreation and destination marketing, Harris has previously been recognized as one of 20 distinguished Pioneers in the North Carolina Tourism Leaders of the 20th Century.
