Fly into Spring Easter Eggstravaganza

Celebrate National Kite Month and the start of Spring with Kitty Hawk Kites! Experience the sights of our massive 30-to-100-foot kites flying high over Jockey’s Ridge State Park. Across the street from the dunes outside Kitty Hawk Kites, take your picture with the Easter Bunny, and let your kids join in the fun during our annual Jockey’s Ridge Crossing Easter Egg Hunt!

On Friday we will have a large display of kites and FREE Kite Flying Lessons at Jockey’s Ridge State Park and on Saturday we will have the easter egg hunts in the yard of Jockeys Ridge Crossing.

This year due to COVID-19 we will be hosting small-scale Easter Egg Hunts on Saturday, April 16th from 10:30 am-12:00 pm. You can invite your friends and family to participate with special prizes included! Each Easter Egg Hunt will be 15 minutes with a $5 registration fee for each participant.

Flying Pirate Half Marathon

Come run and play at the Wright Memorial! We will be on site doing activities for people of all ages and cheering on our runners! Hope to see you there.

Virginia Beach Kite Festival

We are heading to Virginia Beach to participate in a local kite festival! Come join us and make a paper kite, take pictures, and just hang out!

May 6th

Kids Fest in Manteo

Roanoke Island Festival Park is hosting a day of crafts, costumed characters, bubbles, snowballs, games and more! Come, make a kite with us, and spend the day outdoors with family!

May 7th

Dare County ArtRageous

This is a free event for families and kids including arts and crafts, games and kite making!

50th Annual Hang-Gliding Spectacular

This is a big deal!!

The 50th Annual Hang-Gliding Spectacular will be held on Thursday, May 19th through Sunday May 22nd. We invite pilots from all over the country to come fly with us for this four-day event at Jockey’s Ridge State Park in Nags Head, NC, and the Cotton Gin in Jarvisburg, NC. We will have gliders from Wills Wing and Moyes and new Flytec equipment to demo.

Join professional hang gliders, fans, and families for this Kitty Hawk Flight School tradition. The Hang-Gliding Spectacular is the longest-running hang gliding competition in the world! We are excited to be celebrating the 50th consecutive year of this event and have many fun activities planned – retro glider display, video, and photo exhibit, and more!
