Join Kitty Hawk Kites and the Wright Brothers National Memorial as we celebrate the legacy of aviation and the joy of kite flying at the 48th Annual Wright Kite Festival!
Held on the historic grounds where Wilbur and Orville made their legendary first powered flight in 1903, this family-friendly festival invites you to experience the wonder of flight—this time, on the end of a kite string.

Parking +
We ask that people park at Wright Brothers National Memorial.
Please note, admission to the park is $10 for ages 16+, but participation in the kite festival is totally FREE!
Are pets permitted at this event? +
Yes! We encourage all furry friends to come; we just ask that animals be leashed. Per Wright Brothers Memorial National Park regulations, all pets are required to be leashed while on National Park property.
