Stop by the Whalebone Watersports location at 4PM for a FREE demos April – September! Call ahead to let the crew know that you’ll be stopping by. Demos can be arranged for other times upon request.

Outer Banks Hobie RENTAL Fleet:
Mirage Passport 12.0
The 12-foot Mirage Passport is the primary Hobie Kayak in our rental fleet. It takes you where you want to go with ease and world-class authority with the revolutionary MirageDrive with Glide Technology and Kick-Up Fins. When you’re not relaxing in the Passport’s breathable mesh seat, a wider cockpit area with EVA floor padding provides a stable platform for standing and stretching your legs or casting a lure. Anglers will love our stealthy new Bay Sand color.
This kayak is the model used for weekly rentals. Rental delivery is not currently available but we do offer rentals for pickup at our Whalebone Junction location. All other models in the rental fleet are only available for hourly rates at the Whalebone Facility on the Causeway in Nags Head, NC.
Hobie Mirage Lynx
Lightweight, sleek, and super stable, the Lynx is perfect for cruising through calm OBX waters. With its flat deck and pedal-powered MirageDrive system, it’s a favorite for first-timers and casual adventurers.
Best for: Easy pedaling, exploring, beach cruising
Hobie Mirage Compass
The Compass strikes the perfect balance between simplicity and performance. Its stable platform, intuitive pedal drive, and built-in rod holders make it ideal for both relaxed paddling and light fishing.
Best for: Longer excursions, casual fishing, smooth handling
Hobie Mirage Revolution
Compact but capable, the Revolution (or “Revo “) offers speed, tracking, and versatility. Great for adventurers looking to cover more distance or cast a few lines while out on the water.
