The Taylor’s Creek Kayak Tour
SPRING BREAK SPECIAL
Taylor Creek Tour – $29 per person
with Student ID (Normally $39)
- ~ 2 Hours
- $39 per Adult (13+)
- $25 per Child (5-12 years old)
Our most popular trip will have you paddling Taylor’s Creek located in the East Carolina Inter-tidal area to the Rachel Carson Wildlife Reserve where you will experience the bountiful wildlife and its history as one of the only Marine Estuaries on the East Coast where you can perhaps “walk with the wild horses” during a 1/2 hour shore excursion into the Wildlife Reserve.
This trip is perfect for families/groups of two to ten participants or beginners because we design each adventure to take place in concert with the natural ebb and flow of the tides so you will always have the tide at your back and have a great experience on this down stream paddle.
Rachel Carson Reserve Kayak & Shelling Tour
- ~ 2.5 Hours
- $49 per Adult (13+)
- $30 per Child (5-12 years old)
Have you already experienced our Taylor’s Creek Rachel Carson Tour and loved it?
This Shelling & Kayak Tour offers a more immersive exploration of the island beaches that make up the Rachel Carson coastal reserve. Our guides will take you on this paddling trip to parts of the outer island that face the sound and ocean waters. Paddling next to sandy strips of beach and dunes, you’ll have the opportunity to stop and hunt for shells, sand dollars and much more. You will get to see parts of the reserve not visible from the mainland.
A complementary van ride to and from your drop in location, beautiful wonders, and a talented guide are all included to make sure you have a pleasurable experience.
ACA Quick Start Kayaking Lessons
- ~ 1.5-2 Hours
- $49 per person
Do you want to be a better paddler? Is this a sport you want to take with you to the white waters of the Rockies some day? Maybe you want to up your game to paddle the surf of Maui someday? We can help.
Lessons are best in the calmest of conditions, so we typically schedule these lessons for 9:00 AM. Our crew of ACA-accredited instructors have paddled in some of the most challenging conditions on the planet and can help you gain the confidence and strength you need to take that next challenge. You will learn the basics of the kayak, practice simple paddle strokes, and review important safety information to begin with, but if you want to take your kayak game to the next level, that’s where we can help most. Maybe someday soon the student will become the teacher as we are always looking for Great Instructors for our next season. Take a lesson with us and see where you can go in the sport of Saltwater Kayaking.
Beaufort Kayaking with the “Bankers”
There are few places on earth where you can enjoy the beauty of nature, the power of the North Atlantic and the history of our great nation- all at the same time and from the water. Welcome to Beaufort, NC.
Whether it’s the herds of Wild Horses you see while you paddle through the Rachel Carson Wildlife Reserve, the array of native wildfowl that flock to our shores from around the world or the panorama of colors that fill our Southern Sky, your experience paddling Beaufort’s waters will stay with you forever.
For the last 14 years, Beaufort Inlet Watersports has been providing A.C.A-accredited guided kayak trips and lessons in Beaufort and it would be our great pleasure to spend our 15th year showing you these sites and why we love paddling the waters of Beaufort so much. BIWS offers year-round trips for single paddlers, families, and groups. You choose whether to explore Taylor’s Creek and the Rachel Carson Wildlife Reserve by kayak or stand up paddleboard (SUP).
*All trips are led by ACA certified instructors. Paddle and Personal Flotation equipment is provided, but please wear shoes that can get wet and muddy. Sunscreen, water bottles and of course a waterproof camera are all great ideas as well! Prepare in advance and your day will be one you enjoy for a lifetime!
Nature is wild and very unpredictable! You may see dolphin, birds of prey, wild horses and all sorts of really cool charismatic mega fauna. DO NOT TRY TO TOUCH ANY OF THE ANIMALS! Federal law prohibits the harassment or molestation of any marine mammals and the Wild Horses are part of the Beaufort family (That bite). Keep a safe distance from any wild animals you may see on your adventure but feel free to look and photograph to your hearts content. As a good rule of thumb, if you are close enough to touch it, that means they are close enough to touch you too – so try to keep your distance.
