Kayaking is one of the most popular activities in the Outer Banks! And for good reason--the massive Pamlico and Albemarle Sounds offer many diverse and unique landscapes to explore. Inland rivers, canals, salt marshes, and the ocean all become your domain in a kayak. Kayak rentals are available at 8 Kitty Hawk Kites locations throughout the Outer Banks. Types of Kayaks

Kitty Hawk Kites and Kitty Hawk Sports carry top kayaking brands including Wilderness Systems, Ocean Kayaks, Hobie, Perception, and Harmony. Most of these are only available for purchase. We offer both sit-in kayaks and sit-on-top kayaks. Sit-in kayaks are traditionally used in the sound of the Outer Banks. It is recommended that only professionals take sit-in kayaks into the Ocean. They are great for exploring--they come with a comfortable padded seat and back support. Sit-on-top kayaks are more in tune for ocean kayaking and paddling, but can also be used in the sound. Both kayaks rent for the same low price, so the choice is yours!

Both types of kayaks are available as a single and as a tandem. Kayak rental includes kayak, paddle, PFD and padded seat for your comfort.
