Kitty Hawk Kites Watermelon Festival

Kitty Hawk Kites is preparing to host the annual Watermelon Festival on Thursday, August 13, 2009. The festival will take place from 10am to 4pm at the Kitty Hawk Kites store in Nags Head (mp 12.5).

The Watermelon Festival is a non-profit festival, donating all proceeds to Wright Flight, a local non-profit. The day long event includes face painting, tie-dye t-shirt making, rock wall climbing, a dunk tank and much more! All activities welcome donations in exchange for participation. Food vendors will also be on sight, offering great lunch options during the festival. Watermelons will be served throughout the day- by the slice or as a whole!

Kitty Hawk Kites is asking for volunteers to help host this festival. Volunteers will help run events and games throughout the day. Aside from helping a non-profit organization, helpers will be rewarded with breakfast, lunch and a volunteer t-shirt during the festival. Click the link above to download a form.

The proceeds of the Watermelon Festival will be given to Wright Flight, a local non-profit dedicated to the academic advancement of 5th graders located in Dare County. For more information on the Watermelon Festival, call 1-877-FLY-THIS or email events@kittyhawk.com.
