All you need to bring with you when fishing is what you need to eat and drink, sunscreen, appropriate clothing (weather dependent), cooler space to take your fish home and a tip for the first mate (15-20%). We normally catch enough fish to make everyone happy, always have a good time, and rarely come back empty handed.
The PHIDEAUX is a 52 foot custom Carolina (Scarborough) sport fishing vessel, built in Wanchese, NC. The PHIDEAUX has air conditioning and heat for year round fishing comfort. There is more than enough room for your best friends and family to fish comfortably and experience a top shelf experience the entire time you are on the boat.
Captain Jamie Reibel has been fishing out of Oregon Inlet for over thirty years. He has been on the PHIDEAUX since 1988. Capt. Jamie is experienced in inlet fishing for smaller fish such as Spanish mackerel and bluefish, as well as fishing offshore for big game fish such as tuna, dolphin, marlin and wahoo. In the 1980s, Capt. Jamie and the PHIDEAUX spent as much time commercial fishing for tuna as they did charter fishing, and now spend most of their time charter fishing year round. The PHIDEAUX experience became a family run business in 1995, when Jamie bought the PHIDEAUX and started running it. That same year, U.S. Coast Guard Licensed Jeff Reibel, Jamie’s brother, became the first mate and has been working on the PHIDEAUX ever since. The crew fishes year round for a living, ensuring knowledge of where the fish are at all times.
The marina offers an affordable fish cleaning service if you do not want to take your fish home whole. The PHIDEAUX is docked at Broad Creek Marina, 708 Harbor Rd., Wanchese, NC 27981.
